Apple Mac OS X 10.4 to 10.8 Driver for x86 and Power PC

Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion (10.8) back in July, my USB Gigabit Ethernet dongle broke. Not only it won’t connect to the network, it also causes restarts of my MacBook. Going to the vendor’s website (Planex) didn’t reveal new drivers.

I’ve considered restoring my machine to Lion, however I thought of searching for the model name or the chipset instead.

Turns out the chipset is generic enough to be used by other brands as well, which was more helpful in leading to the chipset manufacturer (Asix). The download link above solved the problem.
